LIFE St. Joseph of the Pines is currently seeking a Director of Clinical Operations. The Director of Clinical Operations will be is responsibile for oversight of the delivery of all nursing services provided to the participants. Services may be delivered in the community, day center or the primary care clinic. Supervises and directs all clinical leaders and staff. Develops, implements, and manages ongoing measurement, action planning, and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of budget, productivity, culture of safety, colleague engagement, participant satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and clinical outcome targets for the areas of responsibility.
LIFE St. Joseph of the Pines, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). PACE is a unique program which can assist elders to live safely at home or with their loved ones with the help of a team of health care professionals. PACE provides a full spectrum of health care services for frail elderly individuals certified to require nursing home care, and is centered around the belief that it is better for seniors with chronic care needs and their families to be served in the community wherever possible.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate and collaborates on a regular basis with nursing leaders and colleagues, the medical staff, and other identified stakeholders achievements and concerns related to participant safety, quality, colleague engagement and physician satisfaction.
  • Assure Survey readiness for the nursing services department through the use of action plan(s) which include(s) audit tools, rounds, and documentation review.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, facilitate IDT meetings, and provide leadership for effective care planning and problem solving for quality participant service.
  • Respond to emergency situations, gathers data pertinent to emergencies, takes appropriate action, and notifies appropriate parties. Ensures that all nursing colleagues participate in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills and follows established infection control procedures.
  • Ensure that nursing services department work areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary and safe manner.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and requirements established by various licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies.
  • Oversight of the day-to-day clinic and home care operations, including staffing, scheduling, clinic staff supervision, and quality.
  • Supervise clinic staff's administration of prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Responsible for supervision of clinic staff, including orientation, competency assessment, training, development, and performance appraisal.
  • Oversight of the overall coordination of participant care with outside contracted service providers, including hospitals, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, lab, oxygen, etc.
  • Responsible for adherence to all regulations, both federal and state, which govern the operations of a PACE organization and a licensed adult day care center.
  • Communicate with weekend and afterhours on-call staff, following up on issues as necessary.
  • Actively serves on various committees that support the daily operations of the program.
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of mandatory education programs.

Education and Experience:
  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurses License. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' of health care experience with emphasis in geriatrics.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in supervisory capacity in a hospital, long-term care environment, or other related health care facilities, previous experience working in long-term care or with geriatric population preferred;
  • Minimum of one (1) year documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility.
  • Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site or virtual environment is required. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
  • Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region.
