The impact that you will make:

Reporting to the VP, Brand and Culture Communications, theDirector, CEO & Corporate Communicationswill lead the team responsible for driving the Master Narrative strategy and shaping and activating the ELT engagement plans for this function. This leader will support the team developing integrated communications plans to amplify the top priorities for these business units and leaders, while supporting reactive and crisis communications programs. There is also an incredible opportunity to elevate our industry advocacy, and this leader will develop a public affairs strategy to elevate our position. We are on an exciting journey to evolve how we amplify Nutrien's story, and this leader will have an incredible opportunity to shape and impact our organization's global brand and culture.

What you will do:

  • Lead communications function and team to support Corporate functions and the CEO
  • Drive the activation and evolution of the ELT engagement plans for these groups, showcasing measurable impact internally and externally
  • Lead integrated communications plans that elevate the top priorities of the business with a strong focus on proactive PR
  • Define and lead a Public Affairs strategy to amplify our advocacy on key issues that matter the most to our stakeholders, with a focus on the US market
  • Serve as the lead the relationship manager for Corporate senior leaders
  • Partner as a senior leader on the Brand and Culture Communications team to shape the global strategy, drive a world-leading team and culture
  • Lead crisis and issues management communications plans to protect the brand and culture

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, brand, marketing, creative, digital or a similar field
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated experience in a large corporate environment (global is preferred) and/or agency
  • Exceptional at working with senior stakeholders at the SVP or EVP level
  • Strong background in proactive PR and public affairs strategy, with deep mainstream media relationships
  • Experience running crisis communications and enterprise-wide strategic programs on a national or global scale
  • Seasoned at executive position and executing internal and external engagement plans
  • Strong background in integrated communications plan and development
  • Seasoned team leader with a strong track record of building world-class teams and developing people
  • Exceptional program management rigor with a passion for operational excellence
  • Obsessed with data and insights to drive decisions
  • Strong curiosity, learning capacity and independent decision-making ability
  • Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and partnership
  • Excellent presentation (written and verbal) communication skills
