Position Summary
Perform mechanical repairs on diesel powered equipment (aggregate plant equipment) to include trouble shooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment. Lubricate and change oils and filters as needed.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years' heavy equipment experience
- CAT quarry/construction equipment / diesel engine repairs
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair
- Advance knowledge of engine, drive train, brake, electrical and hydraulics a plus
Work Environment
This is a full-time position that may require long hours, overtime, and weekend work with an average of 48 hours per week. This job operates 100% of the time in a surface mine setting.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
