Design Review Board Seeks Professional Architect & Landscape Architect for Consulting Roles - 29086 University Staff

Description
Interested candidates should submit their applications no later than March 24, 2023 to Linda Money at linda.money@cu.edu. Please do not apply using the CU Careers website.

The University of Colorado is seeking members for the Design Review Board (DRB) with the goal of selecting and appointing new members no later than May 2023.

The mission of the University of Colorado DRB is to provide review and advice to parties charged with the design and development of capital projects at all campus properties under the control of the Board of Regents. The DRB is a six-member committee appointed by the University president and charged with advising design teams about plans for construction on the four CU campuses. The DRB formally reviews and approves project proposals at four stages of design: pre-design, concept design, schematic design, and design development.

Per university policy, the DRB is comprised of three professional architects, one landscape architect, one architect or engineer with expertise in sustainable building design, and one senior administrator or faculty from the CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning. This process will fill two open seats on the DRB - one professional architect and one landscape architect.

Members are appointed to five-year terms and are compensated at a rate of $125/hour. The DRB typically meets one to two days a month, for a total of approximately 10 working hours per month.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working as a professional architect or a professional landscape architect

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed in the state of Colorado as an architect or landscape architect
  • Experience sharing feedback about design proposals and participating as a member of a team

The applicant should be willing to attend monthly in-person meetings in Denver or on-campus in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, or Aurora, Colorado.

Interested candidates should submit their applications no later than March 24, 2023 to Linda Money at linda.money@cu.edu. Please do not apply using the CU Careers website.

For more information, please contact Emily Parker at emily.parker@cu.edu.

The submittal should include:
  • a cover letter
  • a resume with education, work experience, and accomplishments; and
  • a list of references familiar with the applicant's level of experience in planning, architecture, or related fields (reference information should include name, phone number, email, and relationship to applicant)

A selection committee comprised of representatives of the DRB and the CU campuses will identify up to six candidates to interview. The top finalist for both positions will be forwarded to the University president for consideration. Interviews will be held in late March and early April.
