SUMMARY

Facilitate product introduction via Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process. Assist Production Planners and Supervisors with work order related issues, switching of vendors, rework orders, and other deviations. Interface with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Production to ensure the timely data entry into ERP prior to production start.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design products, using engineering calculations, used in the mechanical power train transmission industry.
  • Evaluate and verify customer provided drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability.
  • Process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions and standards as required.
  • Produce and maintain In Process Inspection Sheets (IPIS) used for verification of product during production.
  • Produce product information including 3D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Input of Item Master data into ERP system for all new parts
  • Perform engineering change notice (ECN) processes for all value streams.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Accounting to attain the necessary information required for new part entry within ERP system.
  • Maintain and develop accurate manufacturing process routings, into the ERP system.
  • Perform developmental testing of product in test lab.
  • Write reports and analysis theoretical and empirical data performed from testing of product.
  • Perform quality duties/activities to support customer needs.

  • Effective and collaborative problem-solving skills including defining the problem, collecting data, establishing a solution, creating a standard, and sustaining. I.e. Formal problem-solving experience with Use of 8d's, PFMEA's, 5 Why's etc.
  • Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office, and experience in 3D modeling.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Bills of Materials, Routings, Work Orders and other Design to Supply Functions.
  • Six Sigma methodology and project management skills a plus.
  • Technical writing and report writing.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences required
  • Relevant internship experience is required
  • 3D/CAD experience is required
  • Must have intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel i.e. data mining, pivot tables, and v-look up function
  • Lean manufacturing experience in a foundry/machine shop setting preferred
  • Experience with tooling and testing desired
Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, light radiation, paint or oil products, and weather changes. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.

Physical requirements include lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, control precision, near vision, and hearing sensitivity.
