How you can make a bigger difference:

The ACT program provides an integrated set of evidenced based treatment, rehabilitation, case-management and support services to individuals residing in Shelters and/or living in supportive housing programs or their own residences in the community who are diagnosed with severe mental illness and whose needs have not been well met by more traditional service delivery approaches. Through a mobile, multi-disciplinary team of staff, recipients are supported in their recovery through an individualized, person-centered model of care.

The Department Director leads the ACT Team's administrative oversight, ensuring the ACT teams are adhering to regulatory requirements, clinical best practices and standardization of care compliant with the ACT model. The ACT model promotes an evidenced based team approach in its work with adults with behavioral health disorders living in homeless shelters or in the community. S/he is responsible for ensuring clinical services are provided using evidence based approaches and best practice, budgeting/financial oversight of the program and managing program operations to ensure the program runs smoothly and with minimal disruptions to client services. The Department Director provides on-going training, and guidance to the Team Director, clinical and office staff. He/she will supervise directly the Team Director. The Department Director is knowledgeable of all regulatory requirements and Agency/Divisional clinical standards and practices and program compliance with regulations and standards of care. S/he reports to the Senior Director.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Responsible for the clinical and administrative operations of the ACT team and ensures adequate coverage to meet the clinical needs of the clients and to be in compliance with the contract.
    • Responsible for overall program budget, including oversight and management of revenue and expense.
    • Responsible for the quality of services and uses outcomes data and client feedback to inform services.
    • Hires and orients new staff in collaboration with the Team Director conducts performance evaluations provides training through regular supervision and may attend team meetings as needed to provide administrative oversight and clinical training to the team members; assists the Team Director in addressing problematic behaviors and performance issues.
    • Responsible for insuring all reporting requirements are being adhered to in a timely manner. This includes staff documentation, reporting into various systems that interact with ACT as well as conducting internal reviews of documentation.
    • Provides regularly scheduled supervision to the Team Director. May meet with other Team staff on an as needed basis in collaboration with the Team Director
    • Ensures appropriate supervision of all program interns, either through direct supervision or by overseeing the clinical supervision provided by other appropriately licensed and trained team members.
    • May provide clinical coverage in absence of team members.
    • Is a key staff resource for community outreach efforts and may perform such outreach and establish linkages with the assigned shelters and other groups, individuals or organizations which may be helpful to our clients.
    • Provide after-hours emergency coverage via cell phone on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

A Master's Degree or higher in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling or a related field plus NY State licensure as:
  • Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.
