The University of North Georgia (UNG), a multi-campus institution and federally designated senior military college, invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Arts & Letters (CAL). UNG is part of the University System of Georgia; with about 18,000 students, it is one of the state's largest public universities.

Alongside the Mike Cottrell College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences and Professions, the College of Science & Mathematics, University College, and the Rogers Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis, the College of Arts & Letters provides meaningful academic experiences to students. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Chaudron Gille, the Dean serves as a member of the Provost's Council as well as the College's Chief Academic and Executive Officer. The Dean is responsible for all matters related to the College's internal management as well as developing external relationships and engaging in philanthropic pursuits. This position manages an annual budget of approximately $32 million and works closely with approximately 350 faculty and 35 staff within the College. The Dean will partner with College and University leadership to formulate and implement strategies that promote academic excellence and scholarly activity, respond to community and workforce development priorities, and prepare students to be successful in their careers and as leaders in their chosen professions. Qualified candidates will demonstrate substantial managerial and leadership experience within an institution of higher education and will qualify as a full tenured professor within one of the departments represented in the College of Arts & Letters.

The search committee for the UNG Dean of Arts & Letters will begin accepting nominations and reviewing applications immediately.
