Beacon Hill has an immediate position open for a Data Center Technician to work with one of our clients, who is one of the state's financial institutions.

As a Data Center Technician you will be responsible for the planning, deployment, and maintenance of all physical equipment within the data center environment. The scope of responsibilities includes rack, stack and removal of hardware, cable management, power monitoring/planning, interfacing with vendors and IT teams. This job requires strong knowledge and experience with data center best practices and methodologies as well as attention to detail and documentation.

Location: Greater Sacramento

Duration: 12 Month Contract with high potential to extend

Required Skills:

• Experience in a data center or field technician role
• Experience with basic hardware administration
• Knowledge with cabling standards and methodologies
• Understanding of AC/DC power principles, data center power distribution, and data center best practices

Bonus Skills:

• Demonstrates strong knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Visio.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Complete all scheduled data center moves/adds/changes
• Hardware installation and network cable connectivity
• Administration of devices and resolving hardware issues
• Asset management, auditing, and daily work log/ticket tracking
• Coordinate equipment/material receiving and shipping
• Error reporting and physical DC inspections for general health, power, cooling, hazards, etc.
