SUMMARY

The Data Analyst Intern works with the Business Solutions Group to plan, design, and develop analytic models that enable the business of Chickasaw Nation Industries. This technical position solves complex problems to enable the business including assisting with corporate report development, assisting with corporate key process indicators (KPI's) and analytic deliverables, and assisting with the transition of CNI's Cognos reporting environment to Microsoft SSRS/PowerBI. Specifically, this position will assist with corporate data projects, while also assisting with certain day to day activities, including problem resolution and user assistance as required. The Data Analyst Intern will be a member of the corporate Information Technology team focused on delivering relevant solutions from pre-defined specifications while maintaining appropriate security and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

Consults with functional and technical team members to solve problems. Offers insight and guidance on analytical solutions. Investigates data related problems, implements solutions, achieves efficiency gains, and automates repetitive tasks where possible.

Follows data management best practices.

Collaborates with the Business Solutions Team. Works from pre-defined specifications to construct analytical models in Microsoft SSRS or PowerBI.

Offers ideas for improving data and reporting architectures.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

One year in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience is required. A degree in another technical discipline may be substituted depending on other qualifications, and length and type of specialized experience.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Knowledge of software programming, development, review, audit, testing, configuration management requirements and changes.

Knowledge of professional Information Technology principles, practices and procedures.

Base level programming skills using MSSQL, Web Services, C#, SQL Server integrations, Power Builder, T-SQL.

Knowledge of computer hardware, systems software, server management, and computer systems architecture and integration.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize tasks.

Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
