Description

Overview:
The data analyst will respond to and fulfill data requests, as requested. This position allows for opportunity to submit reports for publication and poster presentations, as well as present at national conference on work completed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, or related field.

• Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of one (1) year of full-time, professional work experience with data cleaning, data management, statistical analysis, report generation, and presenting results.

• Minimum of one (1) year of full-time, professional work experience in stakeholder engagement.

• Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in navigating computer systems; ability to learn new data systems quickly and to comply with data integrity and security to safeguard all personally identifiable information.

• Highly motivated and organized with the ability to work well in teams and independently on multiple simultaneous projects.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to be efficient and consistently deliver high-quality work under time constraints.

• Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within teams

• Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams

• Proficiency in Teams, Zoom, and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Also, proficiency in common statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, MatLab/R, and/or Biospatial is required.

• Experience working with ArcGIS or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

Full life cycle activities of data analytics to include data cleaning, developing analysis, reporting capabilities, and linking databases and data sets.

Continuously monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements in models; perform related work as required.

Perform data management, data cleaning and statistical analysis using SAS, R, or other statistical programming language on NeVDRS data.

Produce and analyze reports for the purposes of monitoring violent death or unintentional drug overdose surveillance trends and providing timely data in support of NeVDRS and to inform the public.

Engage and collaborate with agency and external groups providing public health surveillance support and data & analytics support to NeVDRS.

Effectively communicate technical and general information regarding NeVDRS data to a variety of audiences including agency leadership, policy makers and public health professionals.

Assist NeVDRS programmatic staff with the development and execution of a data dissemination plan.
