Join our team of experts at Service Experts! We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Collections Specialist to spearhead our credit and debt management team. This role is pivotal in managing our accounts receivable collections in accordance with company processes and US regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer the management of collection portfolios, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Oversee and optimize the Collection communication process.
  • Supervise collection vendors to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Engage in effective dialogue with customers and internal departments to expedite the resolution of customer cases.
  • Tactfully manage potential escalations, defusing situations proactively.
  • Conduct comprehensive account reconciliations and aid vendors in addressing customer grievances.
  • Proactively identify collection concerns and reconciliation issues, ensuring timely escalation to the appropriate management level.
  • Identify potential risks in accounts and report them to management.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Credit and AR collections initiatives and projects, fostering robust business relationships with Operations, Sales, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Participate in regular Vendor quality assurance sessions and provide constructive feedback.
  • Aid agencies in implementing strategic approaches to maximize productivity.
  • Support the Credit override process and ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures, and internal audit requirements.
  • Manage the placement and audit process of 3rd party collection agencies.
  • Lead and manage all collection-related reporting and dashboard activities.
  • Prepare monthly business review documents with insightful comments for management use.
  • Assist and manage the departmental Account payable / vendor invoices process.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to understand the root cause of collections.
  • Work independently and demonstrate self-discipline.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in a business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably for a recurring revenue portfolio.
  • 1-3 years of experience in reporting & dashboard management.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in handling customer escalations and complaints.
  • Strong follow-up skills and persistence.
  • Proficiency in MS Access, MS Excel, Word, Power Point. SQL skills are a definite plus.
  • Core competencies for this role include analytical skills, communication skills, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
