About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

This position is a member of the Enrollment and Scheduling team and provides operational support for my.SMU, as related to academic scheduling, the course catalog, and enrollment (as needed).

This position is responsible for quality control and auditing in the areas related to academic scheduling, the course catalog, and enrollment. This position also provides enrollment processing support, as needed.

This position requires 4-6 weekends of work per year for testing and ceremonies and requires minimal travel.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive back-up to the Associate Registrar of Curriculum and Scheduling. Provide expert operational support for my.SMU, as it relates to academic scheduling (schedule of classes) and booking academic spaces (room scheduling).
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues in my.SMU. Assist in creating/maintaining documentation and websites, as related to academic scheduling.
  • Assist in maintaining the course catalog in my.SMU for the printed catalog. Provide back-up support to the University Catalog editor within the catalog management software.
  • Create and maintain the final exam schedule in my.SMU and STABLE. Act as liaison to the departments for final exam related scheduling and questions. Ensure that there are no double-booking issues with sections and events within STABLE.
  • Responsible for quality control and auditing student records, as related to student enrollment. Assist with enrollment processes, as needed. Contribute to Registrar's Office efforts to support the SMU QEP "SMU-in-FOUR". Assist in collecting/reporting on student specific course locations, as needed.
  • Attend meetings/trainings to stay abreast of technology issues. Attend all Division and Team meetings. Attend staff development activities. Assist with Academic Ceremonies. Assist and support other Registrar activities and projects as needed, as well as Division-wide activities, as requested.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's and a minimum of two (2) years of computer experience is required for this role.

Experience with an institution of higher education is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
