POSITION PURPOSE:

Manage a specialized support system designed to foster the proactive management of the logistics platform by organizing, monitoring, and analyzing data in order to improve operational efficiency and performance.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

Experience


* 3-5 years of progressive experience in sales, customer care, operations, or other logistics related positions


* Experience in a transportation-related or distribution environment is a plus


* Demonstrated experience with assorted freight / traffic information and billing systems
* Hands on experience and understanding of MRP systems (Oracle preferred)

Skills


* Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment
* Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite with an advanced proficiency with Excel
* Highly-detail oriented and must be able to work independently
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to build business relationships and work effectively with all levels of employees within AWC, the customer’s organization, and our outside vendors and suppliers

Education


* A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Logistics or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Provide exception management support to the logistics organization, internal clients, and outsourced service providers
* Drive corrective action plans to reduce delivery exceptions in support of operational excellence
* Plan and control specialized program shipments to ensure we are meeting company expectations
* Develop early detection monitoring systems to proactively manage finished goods inventory levels, returns compliance, and key performance metrics
* Actively participate in the regular department leadership conversations to align with strategic objectives and vision
* Align with logistics field operations to create synergies to identify and focus operational improvements through the use of LEAN and six sigma principles
* Ensure that scorecard metrics are maintained (Carrier Health Matrix, Returns, Builder)
* Works to support the Quality Objectives of the Final Mile Team.
* Lead regular dialog with the Corporate Sales Team on network service issues
* QMAPS – Oversee the review and approval process
* Ensure the carrier profiles, delivery territories, and other system data is maintained in support of business changes
* Lead and participate on cross-functional teams as directed by the Director, Final Mile Services
* Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
* Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
* Supervisory Responsibilities:


* This position will have supervisory responsibility of the salaried Control Tower team members



SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:


* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear; and occasionally required to sit
* The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
* Typical office environment
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Reports to: Director, Final Mile Services
* Occasional weekend work may be required
* Travel Requirements:


* Less than 10% travel can be expected
