Position: Contract Intervener/In-home Attendant

Location: North Irving Texas

Rate of Pay: 15.00 hrly

Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:30pm

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The Individual is a 16-year-old male who lives with his mother. He enjoys books, playing with toys, computers and helping with chores. He can get around the computer well. He likes Basketball, Soccer, and his uncle. The individual does not know how to do math, read, or write, but he plans to complete High school. His hobbies include electronics. He can communicate his wants and needs with by pointing and gestures. He needs help with scheduling his appointments and transportation. He is not taking any medications currently. He has been diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disability. The Individual needs CFC to learn how to do daily living skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiently communicates in the functional language of the individual to whom the Intervener is assigned
• Feels comfortable working in close physical proximity to individual while frequently using touch to communicate with and instruct individuals who are primarily tactile learners
• Demonstrates emotional maturity, stability, and ability to perform under stress, and possesses frustration tolerance
• Shows ability to exercise good judgment, cooperation, tact, and discretion in dealing with the individual, family, and the others
• Shows interest in developing additional knowledge and skills

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must NOT be the spouse of the individual to whom the Intervener 1 is assigned: or if the individual is under 18 years of age, a parent of the individual to whom the Intervener is assigned.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Minimum of six months experience working with persons who have deaf blindness
• Valid Texas Drivers' License.
