WSFS is seeking a Compliance Analyst. The Compliance Analyst is responsible for operational support duties of the Compliance Department. This position assists in originating, implementing, and maintaining the Bank's compliance programs to ensure conformity and adherence with all applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to lending. The Compliance Analyst II will communicate with all levels including front line Associates to Senior leadership. This position will require collaboration with fellow Compliance and Risk Associates as well as other business lines to ensure that WSFS BANK is compliant with all applicable regulations and laws while still standing by our mission of We Stand for Service.

The Compliance Analyst will maintain a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking laws, rules, and regulations, participates in various project teams as the compliance liaison, and assist in conducting various risk assessments and policy review as directed. The incumbent provides support to various business lines in the form of providing regulatory guidance when requested and will assist in performing Compliance QC Reviews of various lending regulations such as Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), Truth in Lending Act (TILA/Regulation Z), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA/Regulation X). This role will complete annual training assigned, that would be applicable to the role, and participate in any other training opportunities, as assigned, that may arise for opportunity to learn and grow. The Compliance Analyst will help assist Management with keeping abreast of regulatory changes, communicating these changes to applicable business line stakeholders, as well as ensuring those changes are properly implemented by the business lines, and participate in Financial Industry Groups, as needed, to keep abreast of updates and/or hot topics of regulatory concerns within the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or relevant work related experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience consisting of an in-depth background in financial institution operations, security, compliance, or legal areas involving banking laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Professional accreditation such as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) is preferred.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening ability and presentation skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of Financial Institution Lending compliance regulations, such as the FDPA, HMDA, RESPA, Reg B and Reg Z, etc.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, provide direction, write correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to Associates, Auditors and Regulators.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described below must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Incumbent will be required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • May be required to wear face coverings during business hours.
  • Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
  • The incumbent will be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The incumbent will also be required to talk, hear, see, read and write.
  • This position requires regular lifting and moving of 10-25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Incumbent must be able to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine paperwork, use existing form letter and/or conduct routine oral communication, communicate with individuals using a telephone, hear and speak effectively on the telephone, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, communicate orally with others accurately and quickly, at an audible level that others can hear.
  • Incumbent must also have the ability to count accurately and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance and check results for accuracy.
