Position Overview:

• The Complex Manager is responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the Lone Star Complex including seven products terminals in Beaumont, Dallas, Fort Worth, Hearne, Pasadena, San Antonio and Waco.
• The Lone Star Complex currently handles a combined product throughput of approximately 175kbpd BPD with all terminals operating 24/7 - 365 days a year.
• Total Complex refined product storage is approx. 1.5mln barrels which is contained in 39 products tanks.
• Butane injection systems in Dallas and San Antonio
• This position has direct accountability for overall Complex performance specifically relating to operations excellence, product quality, measurement, regulatory compliance, HSSE and expense management.
• The job has requirements for 24 hour on call availability with the need to work nights and weekends on a periodic basis.
• The Complex Manager reports to the General Manager of Terminal & Pipeline Operations and will be part of the Terminal & Pipeline Operations Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of managers (a leader of community role) responsible for all personnel and contractors within the complex.
• Provide leadership direction to and through each Terminal Manager/Superintendent down to the local terminal operators in the following areas: HSSE, Operations Procedures and Standards, Terminal reliability, measurement, incident investigations (including root cause analysis), training, etc.
• Responsible for planning annual OPEX and proposed CAPEX budgets.
• Serve as the primary conduit for communications between Terminal Operations and other parts of the enterprise including Technical, Fuels Sales & Marketing, Supply Operations, Trading, Marine/Land logistics, Quality Assurance, etc.
• Ensures the appropriate performance KPIs are in place to achieve the overall goals for the Supply & Logistics organization.
• Ensures the operation of the Complex in accordance with Motiva policy and in compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
• Must continually demonstrate a personal commitment to and possess a thorough understanding of all company HSSE policies and procedures, including and how to apply them to terminal operations.
• Understand and maintain personal and team compliance with all corporate and HR policies and procedures.
• Lead measurement and monthly loss/gain performance.
• Ensure product quality issues and concerns are identified, investigated and resolved.
• Set the Complex goals regarding operational reliability and cost control.
• Strong customer focuses both externally and internally, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities with a focus on meeting the Motiva Terminal and Pipeline Operations goals; hold self and team accountable for achieving the desired performance.
• Actively manage and develop direct reports to take on roles of increasing responsibility within Motiva; encouraging managers to expand their scope and influence other complexes as we strive for consistency and alignment throughout the Terminal & Pipeline Operations Team.Strong customer focuses both externally and internally, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Basic Qualifications:

• 5-10 years previous experience in terminal operations.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement all HSSE and regulatory requirements.
• Must have a great attitude, flexible, adaptable and highly motivated.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong teams with a focus on Operational Excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience managing terminal, pipeline and marine operations
• Experience working with jet-fuel operations and product quality
