Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Infectious Diseases

The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a motivated individual to assume a clinical leadership position in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship. The practice will focus on providing clinical and operational services for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and providing clinical services on the Infectious Diseases adult consult teams. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will provide specialized pharmaceutical care, develop and apply medication use policies and stewardship guidelines, precept residents and students, and participate in research activities in infectious diseases. They will work collaboratively with members of the health care team, including physicians, nurses, case managers, and other pharmacists. Additionally, this role will support transitions of care for patients being discharged on outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT), working collaboratively with the OPAT interdisciplinary team.

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs.

Faculty appointments are available through affiliations with the College of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Preferred qualifications for this position include the completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Residency, respectively.
