The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Clinical Pharmacist to work on the UHealth Campus. The Clinical Pharmacist conducts drug utilization review studies and consults with medical practitioners on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors. The incumbent works closely with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and guidance about the effects of prescription drugs, and help plan effective drug therapy programs.

  • Perform pharmacy functions as part of clinical research trials including evaluation and implementation of research protocols, tracking and monitoring of research investigational product, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring Federal 340B program pharmacy compliance
  • Assisting with ordering, dispensing, and accountability of medications for treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
  • Participation in regulatory functions related to STD 340B pharmacy program.
  • Collaboration with clinicians and administrators to develop and/or refine pharmacy protocols related to STD treatment and HIV treatment and prevention.
  • Consult and advise clinicians regarding HIV and STD treatment and prevention pharmaceuticals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pharm.D. degree
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with HIV treatment and prevention and/or STD treatment programs preferred
  • Experience with 340B pharmacy programs preferred
  • Experience with clinical research protocols involving investigational product preferred
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
