JOB SUMMARY:

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transport and delivery of all materials and/or equipment on the truck to the designated location, in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local DOT guidelines. Safety is the number one goal for all company drivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that are in good standing.

• Maintain a current DOT license and medical examination card.

• Assist in loading, unloading, strapping, and tarping of loads for safe transport.

• Complete and maintain driver's log in accordance with DOT regulations.

• Complete monthly trip reports for fuel tax reporting.

• Ability to make some overnight trips (1 or 2 days) out of town on monthly basis.

• Navigate best route to maximize safety and route efficiency.

• Keep all paperwork organized to turn in at the end of each trip.

• Maintain a log book as required per DOT regulations.

• Keep truck cab clean and orderly.

• Report any maintenance issues with truck and/or trailer to avoid safety issues.

• Display a professional attitude and complete all tasks in a timely manner.

• Adhere to all commercial vehicle operating laws.

• Drivers must wear seat belts while operating company vehicles.

• Drivers are not permitted to use cell phones while driving under federal law.

• No smoking is permitted in company vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a Class A CDL license with air brake endorsement for day cab tractor.

• Must possess a clean driving record.

• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

• Must be attentive to detail, driven, results oriented, and have sound judgment.

• Must possess the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

• Two (2) years of driving a day cab tractor experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILL/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs

• Must pass pre-employment and random drug screen
