Description:
Under limited supervision, is responsible for performing setup, stocking, clerical, cashier, cleaning and money-management tasks in the retail area.

What you will do:
  • Communicates any customer related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.
  • Performs cashier function of change-making, accurate ring-up of sale, and making corrections to monetary errors to customers.
  • Following department protocol, counts cash, validates balances, reports discrepancies, enters sales, gets necessary signatures, etc.
  • Complies with department's cash register and pricing methodology, with minimum overages and/or shortages.
  • Maintains cash registers in working order by notifying appropriate personnel of needed repairs.
  • Inventories and maintains necessary supplies to ensure efficiency of retail operation.
  • Weighs items sold by weight in order to determine prices.
  • Maintains knowledge of all prices, food specials and food portions for accurate charging.
  • Maintains cashier station and dining room in a clean and orderly condition at all times, including table tops, condiment station(s) and other assigned areas.
  • Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors.
  • Performs a variety of duties in the work area including restocking food, utensils and supplies, beverage prep, prepare or break down food items, etc.
  • Contributes to customer/patient satisfaction goals by providing overall quality service, demonstrating outstanding guest service.
  • Completes all daily, weekly, departmental reports as outlined in policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
  • Participates and attends departmental meetings, huddles and staff development programs as appropriate.

What we are looking for:
  • Completion of high school or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, count money and make change.
  • Prior experience working with cash register/money handling preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with adults.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to work independently.
  • Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be able to cope effectively with stressful situations and time constraints.
  • Ability to read, follow and understand written and verbal instructions required.
