Description:

The Capital Markets Analyst will be responsible for structuring and executing Interest Rate risk management solutions for prospects and clients. The incumbent will support commercial developers, middle market companies, small businesses, and high-net-worth individuals to offer customized lending solutions using swaps and other derivative hedging instruments. The Capital Markets Analyst will report to the IRD Manager and provide support across the services covered by the Sales and Trading team. The incumbent will partner with relationship managers and the operations, credit, risk, and legal departments to leverage opportunities and increase the utilization of Capital Markets products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Price and execute transactions and ensure seamless transaction settlement
  • Create pitch books, presentations, and other duties as assigned by the Interest Rate Manger / Capital Markets Leadership and engage clients as appropriate and directed
  • Research existing customer loan documentation and funding reports to locate potential hedging opportunities
  • Prepare and review swap and loan documentation from pre-trade discussions through trade execution and post-trade administration
  • Partner with internal supporting functions including Operations for onboarding clients and resolving all operational inquires
  • Provide support to the Commercial Relationship Managers and Bank customers in structuring, preparing, and administering interest rate derivative products
  • Prepare weekly distributions including market updates, pipeline activity, and project work as needed
  • Continued education on derivative regulations via ISDA consultations and conferences
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in the field or internship in finance, accounting or banking.
  • Basic knowledge of pricing analytics and market dynamics for interest rate derivative products is preferred but not required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of capital markets products which are sold by a regional financial institution
  • Ability to comprehend credit concepts and exposure analysis
  • Demonstrate leadership and resourcefulness in all interactions with employees, colleagues, and internal and external customers
  • Capable of working independently on assigned tasks
