Overview

Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items, assists in managing the food and line cooks, maintains cleanliness and safety of assigned work area.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass ServSafe certification class.
  • Ability to pass a ServSafe Alcohol certification class.
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced environment in the Culinary/Food Industry.
  • Experience in menu development, labor and food costs, food presentation, and service.
  • Understanding regulations regarding food safety.
  • Computer skills.  Experience and functional knowledge of how to use excel, work, and power point.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
Responsibilities

Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items, assists in managing the food and line cooks, maintains cleanliness and safety of assigned work area.

 

Works alongside the culinary team to execute menu items. Cooks and prepares food items. Notifies kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders.

 

Serves food in correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed. Ensures product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safety.

 

Squeegees floors, wipes off counters, sweeps, empties trash, and completes other general cleaning duties which comply with food safety guidelines.

 

Notifies Team Leader of any malfunctions, safety concerns or needs and ensures all safety equipment is being used properly.

 

Follows Board of Health regulations

Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with food and beverage team, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directionsProvides break and meal periods to subordinates in compliance with resort, state, and/or federal guidelines.

 

Supports resort execution on time and attendance requirements in accordance with scope of position expectations
