The Business Insights Analyst Intern will provide support to the Sales & Marketing teams performing ad-hoc analysis, distribution of standard reporting, maintenance and update of existing reports and data sources, and helping support the team with implementation and training of Qlik Sense. The Business Insights Analyst will also be leveraged to assist with both ad-hoc and monthly analytics.
This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience, have responsibility for a variety of projects and engage with key decision makers. The Business Insights Analyst will be responsible for developing analyses, scorecards and key performance indicators. This role will assist the organization with gleaning data driven insights that lead to meaningful action.
Reporting Structure

The Business Insights Analyst Intern will report to the Sr Analyst of Business Analytics & Insights as a part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team. There are no direct reports reporting into this role.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic projects to identify and implement initiatives for growing sales and profitability, including: new store locations, churn analysis, product analysis, sales and marketing programs, external partnerships
  • Primary point of contact for local sales team for all mapping related requests related to territory alignment, new store distribution proximity, competitor infiltration. Perform ongoing updates and necessary system maintenance for mapping application (i.e. Sitewise)
  • Responsible for new/closed account distribution reporting on a monthly basis (including tracking of qualified vs unqualified accounts)
  • Provide ongoing business reporting & commentary along with presentation materials for the Senior Leadership Team including but not limited to Economic Reporting, Business & Competitor Performance
  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of marketing loyalty programs to derive insights and propose recommendations based on findings along with preparing monthly presentations and reports
  • Proactively analyze customer data to identify potential prospects, opportunities for engagement and product portfolio placements
  • Analyze and report on effectiveness of product results and marketing programs. Collaborate with marketing to develop standard reports, key performance indicators and develop overall approaches on how to measure and report the business
  • Continual deep dive analysis into business performance, identify data insights that lead to delivering business outcomes
  • Update and distribute reports on a weekly basis, consolidate reports, ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency
  • Support and automate recurring reports to increase department and organizational efficiency
  • Assist with driving user adoption of Qlik Sense, partner with IT and the business in both user acceptance testing, training and ongoing support for the application
  • Manage various internal ad hoc requests and projects to assist and support Sales Management, Marketing and peers with on-demand analytics
Required Skills
  • B.A. or B.S. in Business Related Field (OR ACTIVELY PURSUING)
  • 3+ years of experience required in key functional areas outlined above
  • Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills; proficiency with Business Objects and other mining tools; data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Qlik Sense)
  • Ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and customers. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and content of the work, and complies with information confidentiality requirements where applicable
