The Business Application Analyst II is a full-time position and operates as a member of the Business Application Administration Team within the IT Infrastructure group. The position's role is to serve as the technical lead in maximizing value from the organization's Enterprise Business Applications. This is accomplished by serving as a senior technical resource to Business Application Owners during service strategy and design activities, serving as a technical lead on all efforts related to service transition, operation, and continual service improvement, and lastly by maintaining strong relationships with software vendors to understand current and future capabilities of their products.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that proposed and existing enterprise business applications remain aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Business Owners to ensure business applications are providing the desired member experience
  • Review vendor notifications regarding changes for impact to internal or member facing services, evaluates impact to business applications and adherence to policies, and provides feedback to Business Unit(s) impacted
  • Provide vendor with recommendations to system improvements to meet the organization's strategic goals
  • Develop plans to identify new technical capabilities and update strategies to ensure NWFCU solutions meet future business needs
  • Perform gap analysis on our solutions to recommend consolidation, increased adoption, updates, and additions to simplify the technology footprint for our employees and members

Acquisition & Deployment
  • Conduct research of commercial off the shelf (COTS) business software in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Interact and negotiate with software vendors/solutions providers to acquire business applications and services
  • Recommend additional hardware or software requirements needed for enhancements, configuration and/or maintenance
  • Deploy new business applications and enhancements to existing applications in accordance with established project and change management procedures

Operational Management
  • Act as the primary liaison between end users and business application owners
  • Coordinate and conduct user acceptance testing activities
  • Design solutions to address new processes and work with IT and other Application Management resources to obtain or provide data or reporting
  • Assist in creating system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programming and development teams
  • Support system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure business applications meet availability, capacity, continuity and security specifications
  • Performs testing for incident response, business continuity planning and network system or operating system changes
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights for systems
  • Provides software development support including respond to operational issues, define testing requirements, perform initial validation testing of functionality, ensure data integrity, coordinate end user acceptance testing, coordinates vendor releases and manages major system upgrades
  • Conduct application end user support for all systems assigned and researches system functionality to troubleshoot issues and addresses questions on system workflows.
  • Works with application vendor support staff, network vendor engineers and internal IT staff on application issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work with matrixed teams from multiple organizations within the credit union and to communicate effectively with staff with a variety of expertise
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations and all related Credit Union policies and procedures


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience in the area of application systems support or testing, business analysis or software implementation
  • Candidate must have software application experience for mission critical software that is used by multiple business units included but not limited to Fiserv DNA, Meridian Link, Alkami or Nautilus Imaging System

Preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of financial institution experience
