Billing Specialist

Position Description

4 days per week remote, 1 day per week onsited

8-4:45 Schedule during training and then flexible during core hours of 7am to 5pm after that

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

Reconcile and clear premium for group clients and individuals.

Basic accounting to balance client/customer accounts.

Use multiple systems and spreadsheets to ensure specific client rules are followed.

Use sound judgement to research and resolve problems that inhibit processing.

All tasks must adhere to department quality standards and be completed within service level obligations.

Qualifications:

Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

Strong data entry skills which include speed and accuracy.

Ability to navigate multiple windows-based systems simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and reading and creating Excel spreadsheets.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail with ability to apply good judgement to situations.

Ability to prioritize, manage time, and rapidly change focus as determined by business need.

Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment.

Solid work ethic combined with professionalism and a positive 'can-do' attitude.

Ability to perform within established department goals including quality assurance (QA).

Willingness to suggest new ideas, processes, and procedures.

Flexibility to work overtime during peak volumes.

Physical job requirements:

Ability to work 40 hours per week

Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 7.5 hours per day

Ability to perform simple grasping including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout entire workday
