SUMMARY

STARTING PAY $18/HOUR! The Belt Department Associate position is a multi-faceted role, which involves light manufacturing and air filter assembly work, as well as other general tasks including pulling and prepping orders for shipment, organizing the warehouse and moving materials/products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Learns to assemble/produce cloth filtration products. Works within the team to meet productivity and quality levels.

Learns to make the cloth filters using a sewing machine.

Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders, pulling materials, packing boxes and placing orders in delivery area.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat, maintaining clean shipping supply area, complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Contributes to team effort, willing totake on various responsibilities as needed.

Follows all quality control guidelines.

Meets attendance requirements.

Follows and enforces company policies and procedures for safety.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a shop/warehouse environment. Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Good organization and time-management skills with ability to be reliable in attendance / punctuality.

Ability to practice and promote required safety standards.

Ability to receive instructions and accurately complete assignments in a timely manner.

Ability to effectively perform work both independently and in a team environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, occasionally above head. Regularly required to twist at the waist, climb and descend stairs while carrying objects. Ability to speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to general office and general office machinery noise. May be exposed to warehouse, truck or forklift noise.
