Ast Inst/Inst/Ast Professor - Fixed Term
Position SummaryThe Department of Theatre seeks to hire a one semester fixed term assistant instructor/instructor/assistant professor as a sabbatical replacement to teach 2 classes (undergraduate voice, graduate voice) and direct one studio show TBD (of candidate's choice).
Voice for the Actor: BFA actors. An introductory course that covers physiology, vocal health, IPA, and strategies for speech and vocal production.
Dialects: MFA actors. Strategies for accent acquisition and performance.
Storefront Theatre Director-- Storefront Theatre is a series of theatrical productions that are not design-supported and rather focus on the acting. The successful candidate will choose the production along with the Acting Faculty. The desired production may contain heightened language.
Position is full time and will begin on January 1, 2023.

Minimum RequirementsExperience teaching in a higher education setting.
Desired QualificationsExperience teaching in higher education or professional settings. Experience as a dialect coach in educational or professional settings. Certification or experience in Knight-Thompson Speechwork. Certification or significant experience in a recognized vocal pedagogy. Expertise in IPA. Experience creating student-centered, trauma-informed, and inclusive curricula. MFA preferred.
