Who We Are:

Reporting and Data Control supports SwRI through the development of BIRT reports that are utilized by our various business groups and research divisions. Work hours allow employees to flex their shift between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

Objectives of this Role:

• Independently collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop BIRT reports that will provide those users with the necessary information to make sound business decisions for SwRI.
• Lead user requirements gathering and document those specifications with the goal of providing users with a impactful solution for their problems.
• Troubleshoot production problems with the goal of identifying the causes for and solutions to those problems.
• Develop oracle SQL and PL/SQL to be utilized within your reports or by others on the team.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Respond and react to user requests on a daily basis.
• Some requests are relatively small and can be completed with a quick turnaround time.
• Larger development efforts can extend over weeks as you work through the development life cycle to develop a solution for the user group.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors degree in IT, Technology or related degree field or an Associates degree with equivalent combination of certifications and related work experience.
• 0-5 years: Experience writing reports using BIRT, Crystal Reports, Power BI, or other similar tools.
• Must have an interest in working in BIRT and learning similar tools.
• Experience working with accounting and financial data is preferred.
• Experience writing SQL and PL/SQL is preferred.
