Job Description Summary

This position requires sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), creating/uploading journal entries, assistance with and/or preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, and prepare daily/weekly/monthly costing reports for the operations team. The Associate Finance Analyst performs and interprets financial analyses for the plant team. Present analysis and recommendations to management. The consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of these communications are vital and must clearly convey all outstanding issues.

Job Description

  • Finance support for plant and monthly forecasting activities.
  • Develop/implement necessary processes to support internal forecasting/reporting requirements.
  • Support fiscal year planning including recommendations and strategies.
  • Provide effective counsel and analysis to assist Company in meeting the established financial and profit objectives.
  • Responsible for moderate to complex cost analysis and audits associated with the cost accounting function.
  • Finance support for cost savings analysis, allocation, tracking and reporting.
  • Analyze product costs and COGS variances.
  • Plays a key role in the month-end close process to include journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Finance support for excess and obsolete inventory reserve.
  • Participate in the preparation and compilation of the annual financial plan.
  • Provide financial support for capital investment analysis and fixed asset accounting.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested. Active involvement and participation in plant CPS activities.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years general business and financial experience
  • B.S. degree, prefer majors in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups and other data manipulation formulas).
  • GAAP: fundamental knowledge of, understanding of internal and external research methods for, and driving compliance of.
  • Internal Controls: experience working with and maintaining existing controls
  • Systems and Tools: experience working with and making recommendations for efficiencies with systems and tools, such as SAP (R/3, FICO, BI)
  • Continuous Improvement: experience identifying areas for continuous improvement and/or cost reductions and making recommendations for enhancement
  • Reporting: proven ability to consolidate complex information into usable customer oriented formats
  • Business Partnering: experience working closely with internal customers, peers and effectively managing those relationships
  • Critical Thinking: experience providing insightful analysis to business partners in response to business need or opportunity
