An Associate Cyber Security Education Specialist in addition to demonstrating the skills below will regularly conduct quality checks, troubleshoot course and platform issues, research for content development, monitor the portal for client service requests, and collaborate with other team members. Prior experience in security awareness or knowledge of application security and cybersecurity best practices is preferred but not necessary. Experience in these fields can be used to substitute Level 2 or Level 3 skills depending on the level of expertise.

The Cybersecurity Education team is uniquely positioned to develop empowering cybersecurity solutions for the end users working for Optiv client organizations. As a member of the Cybersecurity Education team, the Specialist must be proficient in the skills required for their role and should be actively working toward proficiency in the next tier of skills.

How You'll make an impact:

    • Internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engagement - Collaborate with Optiv SMEs during the instructional design and/or course review process following Optiv's SME Interaction Guide best practices.
    • eLearning Development L1 - Ability to design functioning, visually engaging, and interactive eLearning courses from a storyboard that include text, graphics, interactions, and assessments. This rapid prototyping should be able to be completed at an hourly development rate of 80:1. Proficiency in Articulate 360 Rise required. Additionally, ability to develop simulated phishing templates on the phishing platform required.
    • Basic Platform Management - Ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to set up and customize client sub-accounts on both the Learning Management System (LMS) and Content Management System (CMS). Ability to follow SOPs to upload targets and enroll students on the LMS and deploy content to clients via the CMS.

Qualifications for Success:
    • Experience in education/training-related role or degree/certification in related field
    • Experience working in a collaborative and inclusive team environment
    • Strong written communication skills, technical writing experience preferred
    • Ability to independently own projects, manage associated timelines, and produce high quality deliverables
    • Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive nature
    • Proficiency in basic graphic design skills
    • Instructional design experience
    • High level of proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
    • Research & Development - Ability to identify credible, valuable sources given a specific topic and utilize these sources to develop original content, free of plagiarism.
    • Instructional Design L1 - Ability to utilize adult learning theory best practices and an understanding of diverse audiences to construct clear, concise, accurate storyboards and accompanying scripts given a set of constraints. Develop realistic simulated phishing template content.
    • Graphic Design & Development L1 - Ability to identify context-appropriate visuals for courses and simulated phishing templates that take into consideration the diverse audiences and needs of our clients. Additionally, ability to marry content and graphics in poster or newsletter format to convey meaningful messages. General understanding of typography best practices.
