As an ACFO/Associate Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of our college. The Associate Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the day-to-day accounting operations of the college, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The ACFO will also be responsible for improving the accuracy of the college's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ACFO position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting and ten (10) years of progressive responsibility in assignment, including four (4) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills::Knowledge in Supervisory principles; Financial management principles, practices, and procedures; Budgeting principles; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles; Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations; Report preparation techniques; highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; Strong interpersonal skills; Effective oral and written communication/public relations skills; excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Excels in communicating complex financial information in an easy to use format while reporting and assisting internal and external partners.
