The Social Work Program at Barton College invites applicants for a tenure-track, nine-month, academic appointment at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2021.
The successful candidate will teach across the social work curriculum and serve as the field education director of the Social Work program. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all components of field education for the Bachelor of Social Work program. The Field Director recruits, manages, and supports all field placements, field instructors, and faculty liaisons; provides orientation and training to students, field instructors, and faculty liaisons; and maintains all partnership agreements with field agencies. Other responsibilities include advising students and participating in departmental, college, and professional service. While the ability to maintain a program of scholarly activities and to mentor students in those activities is important, priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Social Work offices share communal space with two other disciplines. Professional collegiality is expected.
