Job Description:


The Department of Biological Sciences at the State University of New York at Binghamton is seeking to fill a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position for the 2024 academic year. The successful applicant for this position will be expected to develop a sustainable extramurally funded research program focusing on how immune responses affect interactions between a host and bacterial pathogens. Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the cellular basis of immunity, application of new vaccine technologies, how immunodeficiencies develop and affect disease susceptibility, effects of the microbiota on development of the immune system. It is desirable that the applicant would complement or enhance existing departmental research on "Infectious Disease" as well as the University's Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence in Health Science Initiative.


The successful applicant will also be responsible for mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and will participate in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Immunology, and in areas related to their field of specialization.

Requirements:


Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or a related field, and Postdoctoral experience.
