Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the Product Manager with the management of the product development processes including: tracking and tagging all incoming samples, costing and negotiating, following up with internal teams such as tech and design for approvals and tech packs in conjunction to deadlines, external communication and follow up with factories and vendors, reporting and daily updates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Product Manager with the line list and product cycle, knowing each stage every style is at in development.
  • Assist the Product Manager with managing day to day relationship with vendors to ensure product standards are met while maintaining cost and efficiency of process Ensure emails are answered on time and correspondence is clear.
  • Maintain the WIP report for Product Manager by updating daily with new costs, sample ETA, product status, etc.
  • Follow up with internal and external teams to keep the product life cycle moving in conjunction to the corporate calendar, including but not limited to ensuring all samples are delivered accurately and timely for departmental reviews.
  • Responsible for tagging and logging all incoming samples, letting the Product Manager know it has arrived and then assigning next step, i.e. tech, design, buyer review, etc.
  • Set up weekly meetings with internal teams, such as buyer, testing, customs, tech, design, etc. to discuss next steps in the product life cycle.
  • Inputting data into corporate retail system, PLM.
  • Work with costume designer to review each costume and summarize feedback for the vendors.
  • Work with licensing team to ensure deadlines and approvals are met on licensed products.
  • Work with Product Manger to analyze in-season selling and present findings to team to develop better and smarter product.
  • Help gather trend research and shop market with team to gain a better knowledge of the market.
  • Aide the Product Manager in preparing for presentations on all final samples and costing to senior management for final approvals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university. At least 1-3 years of retail background or knowledge. Buying background a plus.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • Strong sense of urgency, drive and passion to take ownership of all projects.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong communication, writing, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines.
  • General knowledge of retail math.
