About the Position:

This is a temporary position that will be payrolled through Kelly Services.

The Assistant Director of Creative Video position presents an exciting opportunity to create and capture memorable moments within the SMU Football program and Dallas as a whole.

While working alongside fellow creative team members, the Assistant Director of Creative Video position will help conceptualize, produce, capture and launch a wide range of video content surrounding SMU Football.

Our team's goal is to collect a diverse range of moments, ranging from cinematic storytelling, organic content, season intro videos, recruiting campaigns and more.

The SMU Football creative team is looking for an energetic, passionate, detail-orientated, and most importantly, fun individual to enhance our team. This position will report directly to the Director of Creative Media.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a current student creative video team of four (while actively recruiting more). Invest in these students, learn their strengths and weaknesses, and develop them for future careers.
  • Get to know our student-athletes, learn about who they are as human beings, and build relationships with them.
  • Shoot practices and occasional workouts.
  • Shoot games in-season
  • Shoot occasional day-to-day extracurricular activities, recruiting (visits, camps, etc.) team meetings, etc.
  • Ideate with creative team for seasonal campaigns and recruiting campaigns.
  • Build out recruiting video materials.
  • Oversee all SMU Football video content via social media.
  • Establish creative direction of videos (branding assets, LUTs, looks, philosophy).
  • Catalog/maintain organization of all footage on server, label (with the help of students) all footage from internal and external videographers.
  • Field requests from broadcast, conference, and TV networks.
  • Maintain knowledge of social trends and creative content that propels student-athletes' stories and personalities.


Qualifications

Job Skills and Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in college athletics, preferably football
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects
  • Familiarity working with Sony equipment
  • Experience with staged lighting sets (i.e. media days, interviews)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adaptibilty, able to handle occasional last-minute requests
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work in fast-paced environment
