WHAT YOU'LL DO AS AN ARCHITECT:

• Lead the architectural design for your domain, collaborating with product managers and engineers
  
• Lead the definition and implementation of the standards, guidelines and architectural reviews
  
• Working with other architecture leaders to set the overall architectural vision for the project
  
• Provide project oversight, code and design review leadership
  
• Bring together the right SMEs to deliver the right solution
  
• Include operational considerations on your design and plan (e.g. metrics, logging, alerting, tracing, shifts, deployment, cost-effectiveness)
  
• Collaborate with transparency, providing visibility on technological and architectural aspects of your domain's part of the project
  

WHAT SKILLS YOU WILL USE:

• The ability to lead by influence rather than by directing
  
• Experience architecting and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant, cloud-based distributed systems - preferably in the public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
  
• Experience in planning, designing, delivering complex microservice-oriented features, workflows, and products.
  
• Knows how to delegate, educate, and give autonomy to every team member while staying apprised of project progress
  
• Experience with technologies and patterns such as circuit-breaking, backpressure/streaming and message queues, distributed caching
  
• An understanding of the different data structures/systems such as No-SQL vs SQL/relational, data lakes, data warehouses and how/when each might be appropriate
  
• Experience with micro-services architectures
  
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/Octopus/Bamboo, ELK
  
• Experience working with CI/CD process and tools, testing frameworks and practices
  
• A background in object-oriented programming in a language such as Java, C#
  
• Experience with technologies and patterns such as circuit-breaking, backpressure/streaming and message queues, distributed caching
  
• Work with teams to identify software in their products that can be componentized for company-wide reuse
