Required Skills:
Expert level skills and experience with VBA within Excel. Visual Basic for Applications
Ability to function as part of a high performing Agile/Scrum team, able to adapt to changes quickly and effectively
Excellent communication skills, will be interfacing with the business team weekly to receive feedback on functionality of the application and do demos of enhancements, changes, and migrations.
Desired Skills:
Oracle Database skills, specifically APEX programming
Insurance Industry experience, specifically working on underwriting systems and applications
Description of Role/Responsibilities:
Beacon Hill Technologies is seeking a VBA Developer for a long term contract with one our large clients in the Insurance Industry. You will be joining a high performing Agile/Scrum team of 13 and will be working directly with the business on a highly visible and critical underwriting application for their business. Candidates should have expert level skills with VBA in excel , excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work on a dynamic team and adapt to new business needs and requests quickly. Candidates with prior Insurance Industry experience, specifically working on underwriting applications, will be given preference and are highly sought after. Candidates who have experience with Oracle DB and /or Oracle Apex in addition to VBA are also highly desired and will be given preference. Our client is open to candidates nationally as the team is geographically dispersed. You'll be working with a high performing Agile/Scrum team and will be working directly with business users on a weekly basis as well as providing demos for the application. The first phase of the project will be to migrate the VBA / excel application from SQL Server to Oracle.
