The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Triaging calls and patient gateway messages of Obstetric patients-must be able to work autonomously
  • Working collaboratively with attending physicians, residents, fellows, physician assistants, social work, medical and practice assistants to meet needs of our obstetric patients
  • Administration of IM, SC and PO medications as ordered and per protocol
  • Interpretation and follow-up routine prenatal labs and genetic testing per protocol
  • Performing new patient intakes (obtain detailed medical/surgical and obstetric history with clear and precise documentation)
  • Educating patients
  • Remaining flexible in meeting changing needs of clinic assignment and workflows
  • Must be a team player, multi-tasker, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, empathetic, have a sense of humor and embrace diversity
  • Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.

Qualifications
To qualify you must have:

Education:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for external candidates and newly licensed nurses.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as an RN is required
  • A minimum of one year experience in an outpatient clinic setting is preferred
  • Experience in ambulatory obstetric practice preferred
  • Experience in telephone triage is preferred
  • Experience in obstetrics is required, and experience in gynecology is preferred
  • Proficiency in Ambulatory Epic Record is preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
Other:
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is preferred.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
