IMMI is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) to join our quality team. This role will use creative problem-solving skills and attention to details to assist with quality of products for new business launch as our products continue to dominate the safety space in school bus, emergency vehicles, outdoor, and highway areas. This position will serve as the point of contact for our customers regarding quality issues with any of our products. You will work with the customers to understand and define the quality issues and develop and lead solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Quality and Program management to plan and prioritize projects in accordance with objectives and strategic plans of the company.
  • Lead and define process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) to reduce risk prior to product launch.
  • Develop and implementation of training to assist with new product launches.
  • Update Control Plans to assure customer expectation for quality, performance, and delivery.
  • Contribute to product change management process to decrease risk factors.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Facilitate problem solving activities, identify root cause of product defects, and implement solutions.
  • Communicate effective corrective actions to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Compile relevant documentation for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability, process consistency, and quality metrics for all IMMI products.
  • Understand and control design features and critical characteristics that impact product performance.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree, plus 6 years' of experience or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, plus 3 years of experience
  • Experience with six sigma, Fishbone, 5S, error-proofing or equivalent problem-solving techniques, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of relevant customer and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
  • Be able to read product drawings and knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 or similar Quality Management audit standards.
  • Proven skills at managing multiple projects with the ability to complete tasks on time.
  • Must have excellent communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with metal stamping, metal forming and coatings.
  • Travel as needed.
