Admissions Counselor for Operations

MIT Admissions seeks an admissions counselor for operations to work wisely, creatively, and effectively -in a manner consistent with MIT's mission to advance knowledge and educate students in areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world--to maintain and enhance a distinctive campus community of exceptionally talented students interested in an education that is centered on science and technology regardless of their geographic or financial circumstances.

Will read and evaluate first-year and transfer applications; serve on the admissions selection committee; schedule, coordinate, and present regional information sessions throughout the country; execute a range of tasks in support of critical programs; collaborate with office peers and on and off-campus partners; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Support for MIT's commitment to access, equity, and inclusion Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and public speaking skills Experience with project management, problem-solving, and analytical thinking Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people with both sensitivity and tact Ability to take initiative and transform ideas into practical solutions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision over sustained periods Experience developing and managing programs Keen attention to detail Excellent judgment and discretion with sensitive information Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of relevant experience Proficiency with SLATE (Technolutions)
