Department Summary:

The department offers programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Our programs are nationally recognized and ranked. The Master of Science program with majors in Library Science and Information Science is accredited by the American Library Association. The School Library Media Certification is ranked tenth in the nation and the Health Informatics program is ranked seventh in the nation. We also offer the nation's largest interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Information Science.

Position Summary:

The Department of Information Science seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2023, Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The specific courses being recruited for are in the field of Data Science, Computer Analytics & Computer Programming.
Adjuncts Instructors are needed, but not limited to, the following courses within the department's Data Science degree programs:
INFO 5501 - Fundamentals of Data Analytics
INFO 5502 - Method and Tools of Data Analytics
INFO 5709 - Data Visualization and Communication
INFO 5810 - Data Analysis and Knowledge Discovery

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Computer Programming or comparable field with a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching and/or professional work experience in the Data Science or Data Analytics field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience in graduate-level courses at UNT or similar higher institution of education. Ability to teach and lead online instruction, and familiarity with the Canvas academic platform.
