Job Summary:
Provides management with financial information and assists divisions by providing accounting support and responding to requests for information.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and processes financial data for entry into monthly journal and the general ledger.
  • Identifies deviations in actual results, compares to prior reports, makes corrections, and documents accounting processes used.
  • Gathers data from departments and divisions to assist with accrual spreadsheet entries used to report company key assets and liabilities, reconciled with the trial balance.
  • Assists with monthly close schedule to meet financial statement deadlines and the corporate expense budget process.
  • Applies knowledge of GAAP accounting rules for daily, monthly, and annual job duties.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries and requests by researching and investigating account transactions.
  • Generates month-end financial statements for review and variance analysis, investigating information to validate balances.
  • Reconciles bank, key asset, and liability accounts.
  • Prepares internal, external, and regulatory audit requests related to health risk pool financial information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

  • No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
