We are currently seeking an Account Manager on our Commercial Lines team in Livonia, MI.

Our office in Livonia provides risk management solutions that help high net worth individuals and businesses protect against the loss of assets because of sudden casualties. We work with clients to identify potential areas of exposure and recommend solutions to guard against risk. An Account Manager works directly with the Account Director / Account Executive and is responsible for servicing, growing, and retaining an existing commercial book of business. This includes the ability to manage workload by processing daily servicing tasks. Responsible for assisting the team with the marketing and placement of new & renewal commercial accounts.

We will count on you to:

A.) Service existing book of business including but not limited to the following daily tasks:
  • Process Auto ID Cards.
  • Review and process final audits on policies.
  • Process change requests and endorsements.
  • Invoice endorsements and policies, allocate premiums and manage audit and accounting adjustments as needed.
  • Work with accounting colleagues on the preparation of client service agreements with guidance from Account Executive.
  • Assist clients with accounting questions.
  • Retrieve policy documents, loss runs, billing information, etc.as needed from carrier websites.
  • Issue certificates of insurance.
  • Review third party specifications to determine insurance requirements.
  • Process cancellations and reinstatements.
  • Assists client with obtaining necessary approvals from carriers, for example drivers, etc.
  • Assist clients by filing claims, providing claim contact information, and assist with resolving issues as needed.
  • Assist clients with routine surety needs with guidance from Account Executive.
  • Update and maintain client account in Sagitta, Image Right, and CSR 24.
  • Document file with all necessary information in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare monthly client reports, such as claims or accounting reports.
  • Gather and prepare research information for team, such as building COPE information and creating a replacement cost estimator.
  • Ensures accuracy, proper handling, and appropriate distribution of policies, endorsements, and other requests from clients and other colleagues.
  • Assist with other items as needed by team and management.

B. ) Assist with marketing and placement of new and renewal business. Work with Account Team to:
  • Gather information regarding the prospect.
  • Prepare submission, including applications and schedules.
  • Set up folders and documents in ImageRight as needed.
  • Enter new business applications in Sagitta with guidance from the team.
  • Work on other items as needed, will vary account to account, ex. loss analysis.
  • Utilize online rating systems provided by carriers as needed.
  • Assist in finalizing the proposal summary including printing and binding as needed.
  • Prepare necessary documents such as auto id cards, certificates, and evidences of property insurance once account has been bound.
  • Invoice account as needed.
  • Update account in Sagitta and Image Right per binding instructions and quotes. Confirm information is correct once policies have been reviewed.
  • Help prepare client policy binders as needed.
  • Discuss renewal strategy.
  • Prepare pre-renewal information packet including schedules and renewal applications.
  • Obtain loss runs and experience modification worksheets.
  • Update Sagitta with renewal updates from the client.
  • Work on other items as needed, will vary account to account, ex. loss analysis.
  • Utilize online rating systems provided by carriers as needed.
  • Assist in finalizing the renewal summary including printing and binding as needed.
  • Prepare renewal certificates, auto ID cards, claims sheet, etc.
  • Update account in Sagitta and Image Right per binding instructions and quotes. Confirm information is correct once policies have been reviewed.
  • Invoice policy premiums if applicable.
  • Help prepare client policy binders as needed.

C.) Team Leadership and Demonstration of MMA's Core Values.
  • Assist in training as needed for newly hired team members.
  • Be available as a resource to team members and other colleagues. Field questions and respond to issues on a timely basis (voice mail, e-mail and personal).
  • Work on projects as requested by management.
  • Demonstrate MMA's core values in interactions with peers, clients, and carriers.

D.) Pursue professional development/certifications
  • Participate in learning initiatives as required.
  • Obtain CISR designation.
  • CIC and AAI designations are encouraged.
  • Obtain MI Insurance Counselor License.
  • Maintain continuing education required for licenses and designations.
  • Maintain and expand technology and computer literacy skills.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years commercial insurance experience is preferred.
  • Property/Casualty license or ability to attain preferred.
  • Licensed Insurance Counselor license or ability to attain is required.
  • Must be a self-starter, be able to work under extreme pressure, multi-task, be detailed and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively at all levels is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to establish relationships at all levels.
  • Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
