We are looking for a 2nd Shift Facility & Yard Maintenance Technicianwho will join our Imlay City, MI facility.

• Starting pay rate is $23.00/hr
  
• 2nd shift is from 2:00PM-10:30PM M-F (plus Saturday work during busy season)
  
• This is a temp-to-hire opportunity. You will initially be hired as a temporary worker. Over your first 30 days you will be evaluated in several areas including your attendance and job performance. Successfully meeting criteria will result in a conversion to a full-time Scotts employee.
  

Key Work Performed:

• Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
  
• Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
  
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  
• Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, grading, ditch maintenance, collecting trash, sweeping, dust control application, etc.
  
• Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
  
• Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
  
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems and assist maintenance on trouble shooting and repairs
  
• Test the functionality of the facility's safety systems
  
• Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
  
• Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
  
• All other duties as assigned
  

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
  
• Four years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  
• Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting
  
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
  
• Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• General passion for creative problem solving
  
• Technical certification in maintenance, electrical maintenance, and/or electronics is preferred.
  

Knowledge/Skills:

• Equipment maintenance and repair procedures
  
• Advanced electrical practices
  
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics & flow diagrams
  
• Ability to fabricate
  
• Intermediate computer skills
  
• Ability to read and write English and to follow instructions
  
• Ability to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/rainy weather
  
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
  
• Ability to climb ladders and work at high elevations
