SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST INTERNSHIP

Work Type: Internship (40 hours during summer and 20 hours remote during school year)

Locations: Neenah, WI & Roswell, GA & Knoxville, TN
Dates: June 2023 through May 2024

Our internship will offer you a chance to explore the breadth of opportunities available in the supply chain while working on real projects such as process improvements in flow planning for finished products, raw materials and finishing supplies, space utilization and optimization analysis, or warehouse operations systems analysis. You will be provided meaningful work experiences that contribute to the overall strategic business goals of Kimberly-Clark. Qualifications

  • Students must have completed 2-3 years toward a four-year college degree; preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics Management, Manufacturing Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3.2 out of 4.0 overall GPA is preferred (transcripts will be requested).
  • Solid knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A high degree of analytical skill is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.


Preferred

  • Experience with Power BI/Query, Tableau
  • Advanced Excel skills

Functional Overviews

Distribution Process & Systems- Responsible for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) that directs work activity within a DC related to unloading, storage, replenishment, case picking and outbound loading, as well as the standard processes and warehouse layouts that govern the network of DCs. Analysis of lift-truck operator productivity, industrial engineering of productivity standards, participation in expansion of e-commerce fulfillment processes, support of transformational order pick processes and opportunity to travel to mills and DCs for on-site engagement. Key customers are business units, retail customers, mill operations, third party operators and transportation.

Demand Planning - The Demand Planner is responsible for supporting the creation of volume forecasts to be delivered to Operations, through statistical generation & analysis in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Finance. This position also manages the demand of new business, new product launch and promotional planning process to drive forecast consensus within the division and supports the monthly S&OP cycle, the weekly S&OE, and especially the Demand Review. The role supports the process for portfolio complexity control, financial trend versus demand plan reconciliation and offers support for service level protection through safety stock review in collaboration with Supply Planning.

Transporation - Collaboration with carriers for price, service, and equipment to achieve delivery of materials and product at minimum distribution costs. Analyze and perform mode/carrier selection, shipment tracking, and measurement of customer service and carrier performance. Key customers are distribution, retail customers and transportation providers.

Procurement - Negotiate with suppliers on matters of quality, service price and other areas of value. Create and develop sourcing plans and conduct industry analysis. Participate on project teams and meet objectives by providing procurement expertise through acquiring assigned goods, equipment and/or services that provide the best total cost of ownership to the K-C. Creation and coordination of Procurement training, completion of supplier risk assessments and leadership of supplier relationship management activities. Key customers are global Procurement, business units, suppliers and product development.

Supply Chain Operating Office - the Analytics co-op will develop analytical tools to increase data visibility and availability for improved decision-making and cost savings across Supply Chain. The role will enable end-to-end process efficiencies and insights across areas such as order management, distribution, deployment and transportation. Activities include creating/maintaining operational dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, Excel and Celonis process-mining, key problem-solving initiatives to improve data analyses, data visualizations, expand technical datasets and automation capabilities.

Logistics Capabilities - Provide continuous improvement solutions for order management and distribution to improve supply chain performance and to reduce costs. Activities include communicating and resolving order issues, assisting with DC and inventory constraint management, and report generation. Key customers are deployment, distribution, and customer solutions.

Material Planning - Responsible for managing raw material/finishing supply plans in support of finished goods production. This includes generating requirements across multiple manufacturing sites, while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials. Partners with vendors/suppliers to optimize ordering, and work through material shortages and constraints.
